Happy Homecoming!

We are so happy to report that life is back to normal in Fort Thomas! Well, not counting the little whipworm situation... (you don't really want to know, but if you do, just Google "whipworm" and you'll find more info than you ever wanted....)..

Anyway, take a gander at our "reunited" video! The female feeder tried to find the song by Peaches and Herb called "Reunited" but she just ended up snarling about "technical difficulties" or something like that!! So, instead of waiting on her to get that song for us, we just want to go ahead and post our Happy Homecoming video!!! Stay tuned, because ya never know when we may be right back here again, or we may even start a different blog!!!

Hope you all have a great summer and have happy homecomings of your own!

Profusely Proud of Our Papa!

He's home!!!! He's home!!! Our Papa is home from Ghana!!!! We will get to see him in only 12 more hours!!! The feeders are going to take us to our house and we can't wait!!! We will probably pace the floor all night!!! And not be able to sleep!!! And not allow anybody else to get any sleep either!!! The feeders are really excited that our Papa is home from Ghana too!!!!
Be sure to watch for video footage of us meeting up with our Papa for the first time in 28 days!!!

Oh yea, the feeders had some technical difficulties in the midst of all of our happiness and excitement tonight! Their wash machine croaked! We thought only frogs croaked, but sure enough, wash machines croak, too!!! Didn't hop or anything, just croaked!!! Water, water everywhere.... the female feeder said something like "They sure don't make drain hoses like they used to!" And the floor is now all nice and clean ......and finally dry! We tried to take pictures, but remember the smoke problem the male feeder experienced just days ago with the Grasshopper? Well........

Camp Canine Coming to a Close!

Camp has been a wonderful experience for both of us but we can't wait to see our Papa who is almost ready to depart Ghana! We have learned lots of new self-preservation maneuvers here at Camp Canine that we will surely be able to use when we get home! Such as, when evil varmints want what you have, run like the wind (ever seen the movie "Nell?")! When evil varmints want to sleep where you want to sleep, run like the wind! When evil varmints want to drink from the same bucket, you guessed it, run like the wind!! Hopefully we won't encounter any evil varmints in our own backyard (unless Evil Cousin Speck comes to visit), but like those Boy Scouts say "Be Prepared!"

We are totally prepared to pepper our Papa with licks and slurps and hugs and high fives and belly rubs as soon as we see him! Stay tuned and hopefully the female feeder will have video footage of our reunion and we will post it on here soon!!!

B.T.B., The Sequel

You may think the picture over there shows us fighting, but actually, Bouncer is laughing uncontrollably and I'm trying to shush him (hi, this is Jup again) to keep the female feeder out of trouble! Are you also wondering why the title is written in secret code? Well, you may recall an ugly episode only a short week ago that involved a tree standing at a 10 degree angle and smoke rolling from a certain someone's ears. Uh-huh, we are here to report that sure enough, she did it again! Barked the bark AGAIN! At least this time, the tormented tree was pretty big and as she cut around it, the freshly cut grass (ah man, we can taste it now....... ) blew around the trunk and completely covered the gaping wound, so now nobody will ever know!

And that's not all! Oh yes, there is more!!! Uh........ technically, she didn't really mow down the heirloom grapevine that has been in the Kiser family since 1896.... she backed over it! Yep, smooth as silk..... didn't even know she had interrupted family tradition until the stake holding up the vine (a 2 X 2 wooden stake, about 5 feet tall) got wedged under the back wheels.... that sort of posed a problem because then she had to figure out how to dislodge the stake without telling on herself about the aforementioned heirloom grapevine.

We are happy to report that the stake miraculously shot out the back of the 'hopper (and luckily didn't fly far enough to injure any canines or cars), she continued cutting and finally 'fessed up when she came in to take a shower. Well, she told about the grapevine, but sort of forgot to mention the tree trauma! She said something about making the male feeder's favorite breakfast in the morning, and we can hardly wait!!

We also can hardly wait only 3 more days for our Papa to get back from Ghana!!! We really like the feeders and all, and our country cousins are pretty cool, but it's always nice to get back to your own house and your own bed and your own backyard filled with big shade trees (that have never been barked!)!

Blazing hot!

Thunderboomers are bellowing outside, so we aren't going to stay on here long today... just wanted you to see what we have been dealing with in central Kentucky these past few days.... whew!!!!

Tasty tire!

Busted!!! OK, I admit it (this is Jup, by the way)... I chewed up the Tug 'O Tire! I didn't mean to...... we were just playing with it...... but for some reason, the taste of that tire on my tongue... the texture.... it was just too much to resist, so I nibbled a little at first. Then I chewed a tad. Then I gnawed like there was no tomorrow... and before I knew it, the Tug 'O Tire was history! And you had better believe that Bouncer did his fair share of damage, too!

Our Papa (he's gone to Ghana ya know... but he will be back in ONLY 5 DAYS!!!!) bought that big ol' new tire for us right before he left. Hmmm.... wonder if he will mind that we literally chewed up and spit out some of his hard earned dollars? We'll make it up to him somehow when he gets back... with licks and hugs and licks... and we won't even wake him up in the middle of the night to go outside! Well, maybe!

Oh yea, we spent most of the evening inside because it was SO hot and humid outside. But at least we got to watch a really good movie with the feeders! It was called "The Blind Side".... excellent flick, but know what? There wasn't a single dog anywhere in that movie! For that reason only, I give it 4.9999 stars out of 5!

He Did the Crime, So He's Doing The Time!

As you can see by the photo over there, Speck is under house arrest! The funny thing is, he is under self-imposed house arrest after an evil episode involving Bouncer! (Hey, this is Jupiter .... I'm blogging today because my poor bro has had an extremely stressful past 36 hours.... like any other siblings, we like to give each other an ear chew, neck lunge or paw splat every now and again, but when push comes to shove, we have each other's back!)

Anyway, back to the story. We were all just sort of hanging around under the kitchen table this morning hoping the female feeder would drop a piece of her cheese bagel when all of a sudden out of nowhere, a set of snapping fangs appeared and nipped Bouncer's schnozel! Luckily no blood was lost, no tissue was torn, no muscles were mangled.... but poor Bouncer was traumatized once more! He is currently recovering from a seizure he suffered last night around 10:27 p.m. and he sure doesn't need any extra drama right now!

I'm happy to report that Bouncer is bouncing back from his seizure and from his cousin's rude behavior! I'm also happy to report that the female feeder did a nice job at not freaking t-totally out last night when Bouncer seized! And Speck, well, we have to give him a little credit.... after all, he did go straight to his cell after the feeders scolded him! I guess that means he is remorseful.... or just a dang good actor! Hmmmm....... Speck.... remorseful???? Only time will tell! (My money is on NOT!)

Uh-oh... the male feeder just finished breakfast, which means we should have a bowl of kibble covered with an egg/baloney/cheese mixture (it is SO good.... just melts in your mouth...... almost as good as nasty grass!!!) in the next few minutes! We will have to get the recipe for our Daddy so he can cook for us when he gets home from Ghana in ONLY 6 MORE DAYS!!! Yep, we're a little anxious!! Oh... I hear the kibble hitting the bowls now... I'm gone.........!!!!!!!

Pupcakes!

We are so excited! The female feeder said something about pupcakes!!! We don't know what pupcakes are, but they must be pretty darned cool because anything that involves pups is awesome! The feeders are already asleep...... so if we can just get that big box off the counter, we can let them know in the morning whether the pupcakes are any good or not! We surely don't want to interrupt their sleep or anything tonight...... and the box IS right on the edge.... hhhhhmmmmm..... I wonder if those little graduation hats are edible? What are we saying, we're dogs... everything is edible!!!!

The feeders are eaters!

After watching the feeders foam at the mouth over the picture to the left, we now know who the wild creatures REALLY are in this house! Who would have thought human beings' brains would go berserk over such a thing as sugar? If the feeders would only try nasty grass, they would never touch sugary stuff ever again! But nooooo.... they just scoff when we try to share our beloved treat with them.... uh-oh.... now we're starting to drool!!! Maybe if we scratch a hole in the back door or bark to high heaven, we can go grab a late night snack real quick... heh heh heh.....

Mouse Patrol!

Jupiter got a job! He is gainfully employed, even though he will only keep the job for another 10 days or so (which means our Daddy will be back... YES!!!)! He has been hired to snag any field mouse that tries to break into or out of the fenced area! He even gets a bonus for every mouse he catches... he gets to eat it! As you can see, Jupiter takes his job very seriously, which just goes to show that he has good work ethic just like his Papa Doc! Speck isn't very happy with Jupiter's new appointment as a mouse-munching-mutt, but as long as the nasty grass is plentiful, he will be fine!

Signed,
Bouncer, whose only job is to b-a-r-k... but not the trees... hee hee hee.....

She barked the bark!

You may think the subject line is describing an episode involving either Quizzy or The Little White Rat (from here on out to be known as Pirannie ...get it .... like a piranha and Annie rolled up into one little Jack Russell with a big ol' attitude), but nope, the subject line actually describes an incident that happened yesterday with what the feeders call "The Grasshopper."

We've seen plenty of grasshoppers, but never one with an engine and 4 wheels... and obviously some very sharp blades! Oops!! The female feeder was 'hoppering when all of a sudden she looked like she was driving a bumper car at Camden Park... BAM!!! And let's just say that one of the little bushes (that has been growing for about 8 years now, so it's pretty good size.... oops!) out front now stands at about a 10 degree angle from the ground!

Well, the male feeder was not happy about this at all. We have never seen smoke come out of a human's ears before, but by golly, when he heard about the hit, he walked out to look at the damage, and we do believe we saw smoke roll from his ears! We were afraid he may actually spontaneously combust at any second, but whew!!! Thank goodness he is still with us this a.m.! And Mother Nature is providing some much needed rain this morning, so maybe that big gash on the bushy tree will heal!

Uh-oh, we just had a big thunder boomer explode up above and now the Evil One (Speck) is growing wings, feathers and a beak.... we had better go calm his fears, even though he snarls at us quite often. Our Daddy taught us to be nice to others no matter what! We can't wait to see him in only 10 more days!!!

Jupiter doing what he does best....

You would think Jupiter had never chomped chopped baloney before! My brother is just a little piglet sometimes! I, on the other hand, always use my utmost excellent manners while eating ..... well, except for when I'm chasing something or coaxing somebody into throwing the tug 'o rope or playing tag! Can I help it if I'm an active boy?

Jupiter just seems to watch (and sometimes catch) invisible flying bugs! I guess they are bugs... I suppose they could be aliens or light bulbs or duck eggs... I mean, if they are invisible, they could be anything, right? Hmmm... what invisible thing would I want to catch... if I could catch any invisible thing in the whole world??? I know.... an invisible tug 'o rope!!!! Off to look for it!!!
Signed,
Bouncer

Big, billowy clouds....

Oh, the blue sky is so beautiful with the big, billowy clouds.... *sigh*.... makes us wonder if these same big, billowy clouds passed over Ghana... which would mean that our Daddy saw them, too! We get to see him in only 12 MORE DAYS!!! We are EXCITED!!! We sure hope the feeders take us on a potty break before we go to the airport.... we wouldn't want any embarrassing accidents in the van..... but then again, who cares, OUR DADDY WILL BE HOME!!!

Bodacious burrito

Ya know, the female feeder may not be able to cook, but she can sure assemble a mean burrito! The queso was a tad spicy, so we sure hope our innards don't start hopping in the middle of the night... whoo wee, that could cause all kinds of trouble!!! If you would like to vicariously experience the bodacious burrito with us, just take a look at this video! Warning: It will make your mouth water and your liver quiver!

Camp Canine is GREAT!

Just take a look at the sparkling pool... so inviting on such a hot day! Camp Canine has been great... the food, the fun, the funky feeders! And don't worry, the gray thing in the pool is just duct tape... or is it duck tape? Hmmm... quack quack!

Only one little problem though, as you can see up there.... but I think we can fix it with a big rat trap! Check out the big ol' white rat that has been snoozing in OUR crate! Not that we even want to sleep in it when we have luxurious queen size mattresses and all... it's the principle of the thing!! Oversized rodents should not be allowed to inhabit our space!

This blogspot thingy is getting sort of strange with our picture uploads.... of course, the problem is NOT user error!! hee hee hee Oh well, the female feeder is getting ready to Dyson, so we had better scoot out the door! Why she thinks that is fun, we will never know!!! We still miss our Papa a lot though, and have tons to tell him when he gets back from Ghana!

Benedryl vs. Worm Shield!

No, we aren't talking about us .... remember the story about the female feeder accidentally giving my pill (hi, this is Bouncer!) to Quizzy? Well, she was extra tired this evening, seeing as how it was Friday and all, so when she reached over to get her Benedryl, she accidentally picked up our Worm Shield pills and came really, really close to taking one!

Let's see... Benedryl, little pink pill, Worm Shield, not. Benedryl, teeny weeny little packaging, Worm Shield, not. Benedryl, for allergies, Worm Shield, not!

While she was zonked out on the couch for an hour or so, we decided to edit a little video! See what you think about it! By the way, the reason you don't see Jupiter in the video is because he was the videographer!

Mmm Mmm good!

Campbell's Soup isn't the only thing that's Mmm Mmm good! Once you watch this video, you will probably start craving this tasty treat yourself! Sorry, but with 7 mouths to feed, we really can't offer you any of ours! But don't worry, the recipe is really easy!!! Just tell your feeders to let their grass grow really tall, then cut it and blow it all up into one big pile! You will be able to savor the flavor after only a few days of curing.... it is SO good it's dangerous! Sort of like when the female feeder starts eating a cheesecake!

Happy munching!

Life is good!

Evil Speck has a soft side, even though he rarely lets anybody see it! Take a gander at what a creme puff he really is on a nice evening with lots of rotted-to-perfection grass available!

Cousin Quiz popped my pill!

Hmmmmm.... I just wonder what effect my pill will have on my crazy cousin Quiz? The female feeder came outside to give me my pill (concealed in a nice piece of wheat bread ....she thinks I don't get it.... ha!) and quick as a wink, Quizzy (also a black lab, but a female black lab.... hello????) jumped up and snagged my medicine!

The female feeder realized she gave the pill to the wrong dog because Quizzy almost took her fingers off, and I, myself, am a very gentle nipper! So, the female feeder got another pill and gave it to me second time around! Hmmm... that means that I will be one pill short when my Papa gets back from Ghana. Oops! Our Papa can fix anything though, so we won't worry about it just yet. If the female feeder does this a couple more times though, well, we will have to report her! Maybe she wasn't paying attention because she was so deliriously happy that today was the last day of school for students in her county!

I'll keep you posted about any extracurricular craziness Quizzy displays within the next 24 hours!

Signed,

Bouncer

Jumping for joy.... or.... Oh, baloney!!!!

Just when we thought our taste buds could never tantalized again, the feeders have introduced us to yet another yummy treat..... we've heard TV commercials in which this word is spelled b-o-l-o-g-n-a, but the feeders call it baloney! As you can see, we are jumping for joy to get at this baloney stuff!!! The female feeder dices it up just so, stirs it into our kibble and oh...... we just can't put into words how good it is!!! Better than any field mouse or squirrel that we've ever tasted!

We noticed the male feeder took a Sharpie and wrote "dog" on one pack of bologna in the fridge.... at first we were a little offended, but we decided to get over it real quick! If only we could hold a Sharpie, we would sneak in tonight and write "feeder" on the other pack!!! No we wouldn't.... actually if we could get in the fridge, both packs of bologna would just flat out disappear!

We will hush and let you watch the video now! Hey, who do you think can jump the highest?

delightful delicacy!

Our country cousins have introduced us to a savory sensation.... a delightful delicacy.... a tongue tickling treat..... fresh, organic and seasoned to perfection!! The feeders call it "cut grass." Seems like a simple name for such a wonderful creation!!! The supply is always greater than our demand, because it fills up a stomach really fast!!! Which of course makes it come out the other end really fast, but that's a different story (complete with Bouncer's trip to Anal Gland Land last week......) Anyway, the longer this "cut grass" stays stacked up on the ground, the yummier the bottom of the pile becomes.... mushy and squooshy and oozy ..... makes us drool just thinking about it! Hopefully our Daddy will get us some when he gets back from Ghana! Hey, just talking about it makes us want some now.... we're going to go find the female feeder and whimper a little... she is a sucker for whimpers!!!! hee hee hee

Revolving doors last night....

We both had restless leg syndrome last night.... just too many good smells outside to stay inside! We went in and out at least 5 times between midnight and 5 a.m.! The female feeder tripped over us on the way through the kitchen and almost stepped in the water bucket! Hey, can we help it if we are the same color as darkness???

The weather man said hot with rain today..... hmmmm.... hopefully we will have some more of those huge raindrops like we had yesterday! The male feeder accidentally left the windows in his van down when those big raindrops poured out of the sky! He muttered something about leather seats.... it was actually quite funny to see him move so fast, right out of a nap!

Well, it's almost time to start the day! We have things to do, people to see (sure hope that meter reader shows up again... hee hee hee), places to go.... you get the drift!
